The first 64-bit is going to bring HTC Android Phone

With Android L able to support 64-bit architecture, we shouldn’t be surprised that OEMs are starting to crank out their first 64-bit Android phones. @upleaks over the weekend posted some new photos of HTC’s first 64-bit smartphone, although anyone hoping the device will be a flagship powerhouse along the lines of the HTC One (M8) is going to be very disappointed.
Per GSMArena, the device will apparently feature a 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera and Android 4.4.2 KitKat, although in all likelihood it will be upgradeable to Android L to fully take advantage of its shiny nhew 64-bit chip. And as you can see in the pictures below, the device will feature a Samsung-esque plastic rear shell and not an aluminum shell like the ones we see in HTC’s flagship phones.

Oh, and @upleaks informs us that this will be a Sprint exclusive, which means that you really don’t have a reason to buy it even if you’re in the market for a mid-range handset.
Nonetheless, HTC releasing its first-ever Android phone with a 64-bit chip is a significant milestone because it promises better things in the future and all but guarantees that the HTC One (M9) will feature both a 64-bit processor and the high-quality aluminum build we’ve come to know and love whenever it releases next year.

LG launches new G3 flagship smartphone

The camera is a 13-megapixel shooter that can manage video at up to 4K resolution. Sound is improved too, with much better handling of loud environments. It also has a laser autofocus system that LG says allows it to lock on to subjects more quickly and more accurately, something camera phones could really do with some help on; and there's optical image stabilisation, to keep your shots nice and steady.

The display is something to write home about as well. It's a 5.5-inch Quad HD display, with total resolution at 1440 x 2560 (538ppi), meaning the pixels are 44 per cent smaller than they are on a normal Full HD display.

With an ultra-thin bezel, almost 77% of the smartphone's front is taken up by its screen - much like for its predecessor the G2 - while the phone's design is given a metallic finish and measures 8.9mm thick

LG has done a lot of work with the design of the UI to make the whole handset a lot cleaner and easier to use. Colours, its says, have played a huge part, helping consumers understand where they are in the phone's user interface.

Announcing the device earlier today (May 27), LG promoted the G3's redesigned user interface using the motto "Simple is the new smart".

There's good news from the battery side of things too. A removable back cover means that you can access the battery - and this is where the microSD card lives too, so you can keep a spare or two with you when you travel. This is also the way you attach LG's circular-windowed covers, which give a new way of interacting with the phone while the cover is shut.

The battery is a sizeable 3000mAh, and there's added support for 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and USB 2.0.

LG has done a lot of work on the rear-mounted keys too. They are much nicer-looking now, and blend into the design of the phone far more. The G2 was hardly ugly, but the G3 looks a lot better.

An advanced personal assistant called Smart Notice is also featured, which provides the owner with suggestions and recommendations based on their activities, phone usage patterns and location.

If you declined a call earlier, Smart Notice will remind you and ask if you would like to call back. The feature will additionally ask you if you would like to remove some unused files and apps to save space

LG has also confirmed the arrival of the G Watch, with a fleeting look at the device on screen during one of the demo videos shown at the launch event. No word on the price, but O2 has announced that the phone will be available on its network from July.

The LG G3 will be available in Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red from tomorrow (May 28) in South Korea and will reach the UK on July 1
